125 Anniversary with the Springfield Park District
I led the creative design for the Springfield Park District’s 125th Anniversary Campaign including the logo, branding, promotional rollout, and community events like Taste of the Past. This campaign brought history, fun, and community spirit together in one unified celebration.
For the Springfield Park District’s 125th Anniversary, I collaborated with our Assistant Director of Recreation and Marketing to create a district-wide campaign built from the ground up. This included the anniversary logo, branding, promotional strategy, events, and marketing collateral across print, digital, and experiential platforms.
At the heart of the campaign was the anniversary logo, featuring our beloved mascot, Skip, rising in a hot air balloon. This design embodied the fun and whimsy of the Park District while aligning with our slogan, Parks, People, Possibilities. The balloon imagery represented rising to greater heights, celebrating new experiences, and the boundless possibilities our parks bring to the community.
The campaign spanned dozens of touchpoints from social media and advertising to brochures, signage, and event branding. This ensured a unified and celebratory look across the entire district.
In addition to the design, I also created and directed the Taste of the Past event, a community celebration at the Washington Park Pavilion. This event featured a historic photo gallery highlighting 125 years of the Park District’s history. To make the celebration more engaging, we incorporated an ice cream social element with local vendor Park N Chill. This event brought together history, art, and community, while showcasing the Park District’s growth and impact over the years.
